AgriGuru launches AI-powered market intelligence platform for rice, sugar and pulses
Platform integrates commodity price tracking, predictive analytics, freight rate monitoring and automated trade documentation to support agricultural exporters

AgriGuru has developed an AI-powered market intelligence platform designed to help agricultural traders and exporters track commodity prices, forecast market movements, monitor freight costs and streamline trade documentation.

Speaking to AgroSpectrum at the Bharat International Rice Conference (BIRC) 2026 in New Delhi, Dr Hansa Shingrakhia, Director, AgriGuru, explained that the online platform currently focuses on rice, sugar and pulses. It enables users to access commodity prices based on the country of origin, product specifications and shipping terms. For rice, the platform covers multiple origins, including India, Pakistan, Thailand and Myanmar, with product-level pricing available for different varieties and trade requirements.

Users can select a commodity, specify the country of origin, choose the product and define shipping terms such as FOB, CNF or CIF. The platform also allows users to select ports and add products to their price-tracking dashboard. According to Shingrakhia, commodity prices are updated every 24 hours to provide traders with regularly refreshed market information.

A key feature is its AI-powered price prediction model, which analyses historical price data alongside geopolitical developments, trade risks, currency movements, weather conditions and crop-related factors. The system generates market intelligence reports covering current market conditions, supply constraints, potential risks and expected price ranges over future periods.

These reports are intended to help traders assess market direction and make more informed procurement and export decisions. The platform also incorporates logistics-related costs and risks, as well as currency fluctuations, into its analysis to provide a broader view of factors influencing commodity prices.

Beyond commodity pricing, AgriGuru offers freight rate tracking for containerised and vessel-based shipments. Users can specify the port of loading and destination to review freight rates, which are also updated every 24 hours. An AI-based forecasting feature supports freight analysis, while a price-alert function notifies users when commodity prices or freight rates reach their specified thresholds.

The platform also incorporates smart documentation capabilities to automate the preparation of trade confirmations, contracts, purchase orders and shipping instructions. Once the initial transaction details are entered, the system uses pre-populated data to generate the required documents, reducing repetitive data entry.

A built-in change-tracking mechanism records modifications to transaction parameters and highlights discrepancies between documents, helping users identify inconsistencies before they affect trade execution. By centralising pricing, logistics, forecasting and documentation, the platform aims to reduce manual work and improve coordination across export workflows.

Shingrakhia said the integrated documentation process could reduce tasks that traditionally take several hours to approximately five minutes, depending on the transaction and documentation requirements.

As agricultural trade becomes increasingly exposed to price volatility, geopolitical disruptions, freight fluctuations and currency risks, AI-enabled platforms could provide exporters with better visibility across procurement and logistics decisions. AgriGuru’s approach combines market intelligence with operational tools to help traders manage transactions more efficiently and respond to changing conditions in global agricultural markets.
