WESTFIELD, IN, May 11, 2026 – Taranis, the global leader in AI-powered crop intelligence, launches Taranis Yield Impact™ to transform leaf-level insights into economic action. This proprietary model provides growers with a precise, actionable estimate of yield loss (bu/ac) associated with every detected threat.

By integrating the industry-standard DSSAT crop growth model with leaf-level insights, Taranis Yield Impact™ allows growers to see the direct financial consequences of weeds, disease, insects, and nutrient deficiencies after each mission on corn.

Value of Taranis Yield Impact™ for Growers and Retailers

  • Identify specific threats in each field and how that’s impacting yield on a field-by-field basis.
  • Support input decisions with economic thresholds and ROI calculations.
  • Forecast supply and make more informed grain marketing decisions.

“Taranis is transforming agricultural decision-making with the introduction of Yield Impact capabilities,” said Maia Donahue, Vice President of Product at Taranis.

“Our cutting-edge leaf-level imagery now not only detects specific threats on every acre of a grower’s corn field but also quantifies the estimated yield impact of each threat in real-time. This unprecedented combination of precise threat identification and immediate yield loss estimation empowers growers to prioritize and take decisive action in-season, ensuring optimal crop protection and maximizing profitability.”

How It Works: Continuous Intelligence

While traditional models estimate yield based on environmental assumptions or low-resolution satellite imagery, Taranis Yield Impact focuses on the “why” behind yield fluctuations.

The Yield Impact and Yield Estimate models follow a three-step process to ensure accuracy throughout the growing season.

For the 2026 season, this solution is only available for enrolled corn acres. Yield Impact results begin after emergence and are updated with each Taranis leaf-level threat detection. For the 2027 season and beyond, Taranis will deploy this functionality to soybeans and potentially additional crops.

“Taranis is the only platform that connects leaf-level threat detection directly to quantified yield impact at the field level,” said Jason Minton, Chief Commercial Officer at Taranis.

“We’re giving growers more than visibility into crop threats. We’re giving them the ability to understand the true economic impact of every acre and make faster, more confident management decisions throughout the season.”
