Dealer Information Systems (DIS) Corp, a leading dealership management software provider serving agriculture, lift truck, construction, and truck refrigeration dealers across North America, today announced Dex (Dealer Expert), an AI assistant designed to fundamentally change how dealerships operate, make decisions, and scale. Select DIS customers are already using Dex, with broad availability planned for April/May 2026.
Launching within DIS’s Dealer Analytics platform, Dex transforms reporting into dynamic execution. Dealers get a faster wide-angle understanding of status and cause and can ask to get detailed insights and targeted expert suggestions, so they understand and act in minutes. Dex is not just another analytics layer. It is the first step toward a new operating model for dealerships, one where every decision, from the front line to the P&L, is informed by data and taken on time.
Early applications include reducing budget preparation time from weeks to days, identifying the drivers behind performance shifts, and data and fact-driven prediction of sales and expense forecasts.
This is not an incremental improvement. It is operational acceleration.
“For years, dealers have been data-rich but action-poor,” said Shane Waldemar, General Manager of DIS. “Dex closes that gap. This is about moving from hindsight to real-time decision-making — and ultimately, building dealerships that operate faster, smarter, and with greater precision than ever before.”
Dex is built on a long-standing DIS premise: AI only creates value when it is trusted and embedded into how the dealership business actually runs.
“The industry doesn’t need more AI tools — it needs better decisions,” said Udi Naamani, Initiative Manager for Dealer Analytics at DIS. “We designed Dex to deliver expert-level answers dealers can rely on — not just faster information, but clarity on what to do next.”
DIS is taking a deliberate approach to AI, combining technological capabilities with decades of dealership operating knowledge. The result is not a generic assistant, but a domain expert that understands the realities of equipment dealers in the area it is trained in.
Dex is the first release in a broader AI strategy spanning every core dealership function — service, sales, customer operations, and leadership — embedding intelligence into every workflow, every decision, and every outcome.
- Service: summarizing work orders, technician notes, and improving throughput
- Sales: increasing quoting accuracy and win rates
- Customer operations: accelerating response times and improving customer experience
- Leadership: enabling faster, higher-confidence decisions at every level
The ambition is clear: to embed the use of data into every workflow, every decision, and every outcome.
