New Holland announced a number of new products at this year’s Farm Progress Show, including three new models in its Workmaster compact utility tractor lineup — the 45C, 50C and 55C, ranging from 47 to 57 hp.
“Compact tractor customers are asking more from a single machine than ever before,” said Cory Hunt, compact tractor product specialist for New Holland North America. The new tractors are “designed for customers who need more power, more lift capacity and more versatility without stepping into a traditional utility tractor. We call this range of Workmasters ‘compact utility’ because they give owners the power and confidence to take on bigger jobs while not losing sight of the size or simplicity of the tractors.”
Alongside those new utility workhorses, New Holland debuted ForageCam harvester technology for its FR Forage Cruiser models that can provide real-time kernel processing monitoring.
A camera powered by artificial intelligence analyzes chopped corn as it flows through the spout, calculating the percentage of fully processed kernels and comparing it against the target processing levels that have been predetermined by the operator in real time.
This data is used to continuously and automatically adjust the kernel processor to achieve the desired forage quality, eliminate underprocessing, boost productivity, minimize fuel consumption and reduce machine wear.
“For dairy and beef producers, feed quality is the most important indicator of forage harvester performance,” said Patrick Weitzel, forage harvester marketing manager for New Holland North America. “Producers and custom operators are getting a real-time [kernel processing score] and can assess right away if the quality is high enough the moment their forage is running through the harvester. In the past, we had to guess from the cab what the score was or send samples to the lab to determine the KPS. Now, we instantly know the forage score and quality.”
Besides those new products, New Holland debuted a new paint color on its Workmaster, T7, XD and new PowerStar machines displayed at the Farm Progress Show called “dynamic blue.” The refreshed paint is slightly bluer than its former look.
